Activities/Attractions: York is a historic walled city in North Yorkshire, England at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss. The city is noted for its rich history, playing an important role throughout much of its existence; it is nearly 2,000 years old.

Steeped in a history that goes back to the Romans, the tales and sights of the city will haunt you and beckon you back. Located just a two hour train ride north of London, and about the same length of journey south of Edinburgh, Scotland, it’s high on the list of "things to see" in the United Kingdom.

Situated just a five minute drive from the train station, the guest house is easily accessible by rail. Recently crowned Europe's top city tourist destination for 2007, York boasts a wealth of tourist attractions, including:

• York Minster - the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe - York Minster. It is the seat of the Archbishop of York (the second highest office of the Church of England), and cathedral for the Diocese of York, and is run by a Dean and Chapter under the Dean of York

A very friendly welcome awaited us and the owners Paul and Julie were very helpful with any request we had, whether it be directions, recommendations or personal taste. If they did not know the answer they would find out and get back to us. Our accommodation was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was first class and set you up for the day. Would definitely return again."
